On May 1, 2013, Framingham Town Meeting voted 149-1 to fund the town’s $3.8 million portion of the project to build the new McAuliffe Branch Library.

The Foundation and library officials are now moving forward with the next steps for bringing the new McAuliffe Branch Library to the village of Nobscot.

These steps include:

– Completing the purchase and sale of the property on Water Street
– Re-engaging the architect and owner’s project manager
– Working with the town regarding disposition of the existing
house on the property
– Developing final building plans

The target completion date for the new McAuliffe Branch is the end of 2015 or early 2016.

And finally, while the Foundation has raised more than $400,000 towards its $600,000 goal for the project, we are actively seeking donations to meet or surpass the target.
