Town Approval

On May 1, 2013, Framingham Town Meeting approved by a 149-1 vote the town’s portion of the funding for the new McAuliffe Branch Library. On July 11, 2013, the land for the new branch on Water Street was purchased. On March 6, 2014, the Planning Board approved the plan for the project.

The Foundation and library officials are now moving forward with the next steps for bringing the new McAuliffe Branch Library to the village of Nobscot.

These steps include:

Putting the project out to bid for a general contractor in May, 2014
– Breaking ground for the project in July, 2014

The target completion date for the new McAuliffe Branch is the end of 2015 or early 2016.

We need your help. The Trustees and the FPL Foundation told Town Meeting that they would raise $600,000 to help pay for the project.
